Story & Atmosphere
Situated in the heart of Playas de Rosarito, Restaurant de Langosta La Guerita is a culinary gem that beautifully captures the essence of Baja California's seafood tradition. Known for its fresh lobster dishes, this spot has drawn both locals and travelers eager to savor authentic flavors just a stroll away from the Quinta Del Mar area.
The hallmark here is undeniably the lobster, prepared with care and a keen eye for flavor. The garlic lobster, in particular, stands out — rich, buttery, and infused with just the right amount of seasoning, earning a reputation even when compared to the famous Puerto Nuevo style. Freshness permeates every bite, elevating classic Baja dishes like octopus and red snapper, which are grilled or cooked to perfection. The homemade tortillas and perfectly cooked beans form a comforting, traditional base that complements each entrée.
What also impresses is the depth of the supporting menu — from hearty, flavorful fish soups to delicacies like Marlin quesadillas with smoky chipotle sauce. Desserts like the flan with a hint of liqueur round out the meal with a warm, satisfying finish. Service here, highlighted by attentive staff such as Jerry, ensures a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the entire dining experience.
While the setting may feel a bit dated, it only adds to the authentic charm of this longstanding establishment, which has been delighting guests for over two decades. Whether you’re seeking traditional Baja seafood classics or dishes with a contemporary twist, Restaurant de Langosta La Guerita offers a rich, memorable journey into coastal Mexican cuisine.
“ I was a bit disappointed with the size of the lobster. I got the lobsters Porto Nuevo Style and out of the Four Tails they barely had one to one and a half bytes each of meat. Curry fries beans was good my husband had some of the rice the homemade potatoes were fantastic and reminded of my grandma's and the soup was good also. I'm much prefer Puerto Nuevo Numero Uno for Lobster ”
“ Food was delicious, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Lobster was really good and the beans and flour tortillas were fresh and delicious. Octopus was cooked perfectly and tasted great. ”
“ The Best Garlic Lobster (better than Puerto Nuevo) just a little pricier but well worth it. Ceviche bomb, Salsa bomb, service excellent, all seafood served is fresh and very tasty. Well worth the stop and its across from Quinta Del Mar area walking distance. A must stop. ”
“ Everything we ordered and everything that came with our order was delicious! We had fish soup, Marlin Quesadilla with Chipotle sauce (which was super delicious), Puerto Nuevo Style Lobster with rice, beans, and freshly made tortillas (soooo good), grilled red snapper, and flan with liqueur. The place was really dated, but the food was yummy and Jerry's customer service was excellent! ”
“ Great food and wonderful service. Lobster was so fresh and oysters were too. Flan was the best I have had in a long time/ ”
